Intros Round

Wed Jan 21, 2009, 1:59 PM
Alrightie, well hello! I'm called Steph, usually. I'm a high school student and knitter. My favourite subjects are Spanish and French, equally b/c my teachers get jealous if I pick one over the other :/

The main thing you should know about me is that I like British things. Telly, music, art, food, drinks, people. I probably can name 3 times more British actors than American actors, even thought I'm American.

If you can't tell from my gallery my favourite shows are Torchwood and Doctor Who. I got my best friend addicted to them too, you can check her out here: :iconchristinamarieweir:

I may be the official Super Nerd, depending who you ask. I like to read and I'm forever analysing something or other, even if it doesn't need to be. I'm a bit mad, but as the wise man once said "Anyone remotely interesting is mad in some way."

I'm going to hush now and stop my eternal procrastination. Hasta!

Thank you for visiting my gallery and for the fave!
:iconasuzerosw:
You're very welcome! What do you make your figures out of? (if you don't mind me asking)
:iconrecycledfunk:
I don't mind sharing!

I used a pingpong ball for the head and then added the facial features with clay. The bodies are also made of clay with covered wires for the arms and legs. I put the holes in for the limbs while the clay is still wet, this way it's easier to put them all together. The legs are also made of clay with a wire running through them. And I stitch the clothing by hand (which really hurt on Sam's leather jacket! Owie!!).

And they're surprisingly easy to make! The hardest part was the clothing but with google as your guide (as it was mine!) it's pretty easy to find some simple patterns to modify.

And thanks for the favourite by the way :D

A pingpong ball for the head is brilliant, it isn't too heavy or big. I'm working on a doll version of my David felt man and the hand-stitching is seriously killing my hands. I think I'm just going to knit the clothes for him (if you can knit it's a lot easier on the fingers)

Thank you so much for adding me as a favorite! I am new to this place and I love it so far! I will have a ton more photos coming soon!

I really love the perspective shots, how long were you in Europe?
